Andy Warhol Street Exhibition

In January 2002, Channel 4 put art on to the streets turning the great city of London into a vast art gallery. Optimising the advantage of the opportunity presented by their four-part series on the artist Andy Warhol, Channel 4 was allowed to display some of Warhol’s iconic images on billboards around London, offering a unique exhibiton of 50 artworks literally hung in the cityscape of the capital. As Martin Cribb from the Warhol Foundation said: ‘This poster campaign seems particularly apt because Warhol always observed that Pop was all around on billboards and hoardings.’
