by Francis and Karen Shaw took over three years. The result is a 90-minute story which resonates with veracity, capturing the spirit of such a large project and demonstrating just how much stubborn will and stamina were required. What started for me as an enjoyable exploration of the different approaches of conservation, repair work and restoration turned into a documentary record of how English Heritage underwent a sea-change in its approach to the historic environment during those three years.
