Cameron Stout
Winner Season Four: 2003
‘I come from the Orkney
islands, on the same latitude as Alaska. I studied International Trade and Languages at Edinburgh, then did my study year in France, then worked in Seville for a year, but I always wanted to go back to the Orkneys. So I did, and applied for a school leaver job as a salesman in a fish company. But when I sent in my CV, they decided to give me a chance as Export Manager. My brother, who makes commercials, made a video of me in the Orkneys, standing on a cliff with the sun behind my head, to enter me for Big Brother. Now I’m back in the Orkneys but do quite a lot of writing. I have a column in the Aberdeen Express
and I do a lot with BBC Scotland. I’m also a veteran on the panto circuit. I’ve played Prince Charming, Peter Pan, and Hook’s assistant. The best thing that happened after Big Brother was going to Zambia
where the girl who had won Big Brother Zambia asked me to cut a ribbon in a park that had been created by raising money from charity, and I met Dr Kenneth Kaunda
.’
