Winner Season Eight: 2007
‘I only had a job as a data input technician for two months before I was chosen for Big Brother. I’d never spent more than four days away from home before, so to be in the house with so many people was difficult and it’s even more difficult now, because having lived for fifteen weeks without newspapers, TV and radio, and with only a few people in the house, I find life on the outside really crowded. It’s like a dream really. It’s difficult to realise that it’s happening to me. It’s a problem going out for dinner with my best friend – we have known each other since we were six. Now, people come up to me all the time because they know me, or they think they do, and it’s tough on him. I suppose it will wear off, and I do realise the fame thing is only going to last for a little while, and then I’ll go back to my normal life and get another job, or go to uni. It’s like Andy Warhol
, I tell myself, it’s only for fifteen minutes, and I have to keep my feet on the ground.’
