‘Why did I go in for Big Brother? It was weird really. I am very clairvoyant and I had a dream in which a very close friend who had died in an accident told me to go in for it, and that I would win it. So I did and I’m proud I raised £400,000 with the phone-ins for the Tourette Association. Yes, of course it was difficult for me trying out for Big Brother and going on the show, but I wanted to raise people’s awareness of Tourette Syndrome, to let them know they didn’t have to be scared of us, that they have a laugh with us. And I also wanted to sort out my mum’s £70,000 mortgage and promote my band, which is called Pete Bennett and the Love Dogs. My first single, Cosmonaut, is about to appear on an independent label and I’m going on tour with the new band, which we launched at the O2 Dome. Of course my ambition is to be a rock star.’
